I’ve got a beautiful wedding for you today, throwing back to August 2012 for Meghan and Mike’s Calamigos Ranch wedding! Meghan and Mike met in LA at a mixer for alumni of the University of Illinois. Los Angeles was the perfect backdrop for their wedding, and they found the perfect rustic garden venue nestled in the hills of Malibu.
The wedding day started at the Westlake Village Inn, where Meghan and her girls got ready. I loved the natural light in her room!
Once Meghan was ready, we all headed over to Calamigos Ranch for the first look. I caught Mike looking handsome and maybe just a little nervous before his bride walked across the bridge toward him.
Loved Mike’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time on their wedding day. What a great moment! Their love for each other was written all over their faces.
Calamigos Ranch has so many great spots for wedding photos, especially going along with Meghan’s vision for a rustic garden wedding.
We loved the barn at Calamigos Ranch! It was pretty much a wedding photographers dream. 🙂
Meghan walked down the aisle to the sound of violins, tearing up as she made her way toward her groom. On the day Mike proposed to Meghan, the two took a private sailboat cruise around Marina del Rey, where they’d taken sailing classes together. But unbeknownst to Meghan, Mike had carefully planned a romantic Italian dinner, complete with a violin serenade by their captain as Mike got down on one knee… making the violins on their wedding day extra special.
After their first kiss, with the wedding ceremony officially concluded, Meghan and Mike walked back up the aisle as Mr. and Mrs… and Meghan was wearing the biggest smile of her life.
Meghan put a lot of thought into her wedding day details. Calamigos Ranch is a beautiful wedding venue that doesn’t need a lot of sprucing up, but the little things Meghan added really helped to make it about her and Mike. I loved that Meghan used lace from her mom’s wedding dress to wrap her bridal bouquet. It was such a special touch, made even better by her grandmother’s brooch pinned to the front.
After the ceremony, Meghan, Mike, and their wedding party took a moment to soak in the joy of the wedding day. Their guests headed inside for a super fun reception in the Redwood Room at Calamigos Ranch.
Meghan and Mike were daring enough to shove wedding cake in each others’ faces! Of course, they hugged it out.
We danced the night away, and the happy couple had so much fun with their family and friends, celebrating their first day of marriage! Meghan and Mike’s Calamigos Ranch wedding was a sure success, and an amazing day to remember.
